Holiday Gifts for Our Residents

Wish List
Following is an up-to-date list of most needed items at the Shelter.

Toiletries
Travel size toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, bath soap, deodorant) disposable razors, shaving cream, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, kleenex, Q-tips

Over The Counter Medication
Ibuprofen, cough drops/cough syrup/cold medication (without alcohol), vitamins (multi, C, E, fish oil), band aids, antacid

Staying Warm
Sleeping bags
Hats & gloves (warm, winter), socks (long, winter), large winter jackets, winter boots (adult sizes)

Regarding clothing donations:  Due to very limited storage space, the Shelter accepts only good quality, adult-sized (large and extra-large) winter outerwear (coats, socks, hats, gloves). For other clothing donations we suggest Ares Thrift Shop (303-444-8088) or The Deacons’ Closet (303-442-3523).

Please note:

  • The Shelter is closed - and unable to receive donations -  from noon until 4:00 pm daily. 
  • The best time to drop off donations is 8:00 am until noon, seven days a week.  The next best time to drop off donations is between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm, seven days a week.  Please bring donations to the west facing door on the north end of the Shelter, 4869 North Broadway. View a map.

Holiday Gifts for Our Residents

  • Please deliver gifts to the Shelter unwrapped
  • Please remember that the Shelter is a nonsectarian organization and that our residents have a variety of individual faiths. 
  • The best dates to donate are November 27th - December 21st.  The Shelter is generally closed between noon – 4:15 pm. 

 The following items for adult men and women are the most useful gifts for this time of year:

  • Long underwear
    • Women sizes:  Medium - XL, but a few small, XXL and XXXL
    • Men sizes:  Large - XL, but a few medium, XXL and XXXL
  • Sweatshirts (Sizes same as above)
  • Hats
  • Gloves
  • Wool Socks
  • Bus Passes
  • Sleeping Bags
  • Backpacks
  • Jackets (Men sizes Large and up)
  • New Boots (Men sizes 9-13)

 The following items are NOT suitable for gifts:

  • Cash
  • Toiletries
