Listed below are descriptions of our 2013 Summer Program volunteer opportunities:

Breakfast Cooks
Shift: 5:30-7:30am

  • Cook basic breakfast foods (eggs, oatmeal, pancakes) for up to 80 plus people.
  • Practice kitchen and food safety guidelines.
  • Organize cold foods on counter.
  • Serve breakfast trays to residents.
  • Put leftover food away and clean up food prep areas


Breakfast Continental Prep/Serve
Shift: 6:00-7:30am

  • Set out available cold items (items that do not require heating) for self-serve for up to 80 plus people.
  • Practice kitchen and food safety guidelines.
  • Organize cold foods on counter.
  • Serve breakfast trays to residents.
  • Put leftover food away and clean up food prep areas


Dorm Supply Volunteers
Shifts: 6:00-8:00am

  • Distribute personal care items, over the counter medications, mail, and laundry soap to residents at the service window.
  • Help keep Dorm Supply Area clean and organized.
  • Assist staff with other tasks as needed.

 

We also have occasional openings for Volunteer Dinner Groups, which are groups of 4-8 people who come as a group to cook and/or serve our evening meals. If you have a group that is interested in this, please contact us to check on current opportunities.

Volunteers may also help with donation drives for items such as food, blankets, or personal care items. We would be happy to provide more information to anyone interested in this type of project.

Stayin' Home for the Homeless
