Thank you for your volunteer interest. As a private, non-profit agency, the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless relies heavily on the dedicated involvement of volunteers to succeed in its mission. Beyond serving as unpaid staff, volunteers act as liaisons between the Shelter community and the public at large. With only a handful of paid program staff members on duty each night, volunteers play a crucial role in delivering services to up to 160 homeless residents. Their presence not only helps to expand the services that can be offered, but also brings fresh energy and enthusiasm to the staff and clients. The Boulder Shelter is currently recruiting volunteers for our 2013 Summer Program Season of May 1st through September 30th. The volunteer roles that will be available for the Summer Program Season are: breakfast, dinner and morning dorm supply shifts. Please visit the ‘opportunities’ page to review the job descriptions.
The first step for all new volunteers is to attend volunteer orientation. Pre-registration is required. To register, please email TaReva, Volunteer Manager, TaReva@bouldershelter.org with the following information:
Orientation includes: information about Shelter programs, policies, and procedures; a tour of the Shelter; detailed information about volunteer guidelines, roles, and job duties; and the opportunity to request a specific volunteer job and schedule. Please contact TaReva@bouldershelter.org or call 303-468-4316 to register for orientation. Please note: Anyone under the age of 18 must be directly supervised by an adult volunteer, and any children who accompany adult volunteers should be at least 12 years old.
